New mobs for Traverse
-
It has been a great week for us as we can finally land our spaceships! Time to polish up landing and clean up some loose ends.
Meanwhile i will be adding 60 new mobs. I will keep adding GIFS of each mob as we add them.
First up we have 'Birchfury' Tree Ent. This particular mob will be rare but if you get lucky maybe it will spawn on your planet or you will need to explore the universe hoping to find some DNA to migrate back to your planet.

Trying to fix how gifs load up -- seems only to display it after the whole file has been downloaded..
I'm so excited about all the new mobs we're getting!!!
-
So great! maybe a "forest" plenty of those mobs could be a great idea for my planet
-
@Draëcal lol! there will be an option to keep them in idle position so from afar with some fog maybe, it could look like a few random trees placed to the passing by player....
-
yep! that´s the idea hahaha so a noob adventurer will probably find his end in the forest or to run away as fast as he can hahaha
-
@Draëcal hahah meanie!
-
Next mob we have is 'Demon-Lord Ryzix'. Very tough raid boss! Not really designed to solo, but feel free to try ;)
-
Can you see these youtube links from China Draëcal?
-
Not Youtube videos allowed in China
-
@Draëcal Damn will have find another solution then :(
-
Here we have another rare mob 'Bitterspur'. It has a pretty nasty tongue so you might want to stand back a bit.
-
No Gifs embeded allowed (T.T)
-
@Draëcal I guess you can't see it in twitter either?
-
Next mob is called 'Psycrites' - these mobs will be uncommon.
-
@Aztar neither! both censored
-
Next up is a Stone Golem - another fun mob to place around the planet for unsuspecting players!

I have been following your game dev. for over a month now and there's only 1 word I can say, WOW! simply WOW! the graphics, the animations, the creativity. Kudos.
I was wondering is there an Alpha testing team? pre alpha/beta access via founder of some sort? is this project going to go live on crowd funding? what I'm trying to say how can I help and participate in this amazing project? :D (I'm myself a computer science fresh graduate and a big fan of MMO's and game developement).

@DanielNetzer Thank you for your support, the team behind this game is just awesome, they are doing a great job and they work diligently, if you keep in touch at the weekly updates post, you'll see how much work they do.and If you are a computer science graduate you'll probably understand how difficult can be to create a pre-alpha state of a game, while creating a game you usually show people just a few part of what is the game, just maybe a part you have created just for that purpose ^_^
Anyway, thank´s for being here and soon it´s time for an other weekly update!
See you at the forum.

@DanielNetzer Welcome to our community, and thanks for comments!
Traverse will have 3 testing phases before release:
- Pre-alpha: a lot of the features are missing, but game is somewhat playable.
- Alpha: some of the features are missing, but most of the game is playable.
- Beta: game has all the features expected at release, we're just fixing bugs.
We are past earlier stages (like prototypes or proofs of concept).
Traverse is currently in 'Pre-alpha' but we haven't started any external testing yet. External testing really needs to wait until few more 'core' features are completed, like space travel, general level progression, planet modding permissions system, inventory and gear systems. I can't commit to any specific times until we complete components that are difficult to measure, simply because nobody has ever done it before. :-)
We are at the last of the items that we can't measure -- ability to have seamless travel from one huge planet to another (no loading screens). This has, so far, taken over 2 months, but we're at the very end of it. :-)
We do intend to start with 'pre-sales' of the game at a discounted price as soon as it is in Alpha, and this will include alpha access.
In regard to crowd-funding, we have mixed feelings. To make it a success, we need proper focus and effort, but this will actually delay release because we'll be working mostly on marketing and less on core features. Game should also be in 'Alpha' by that time, but perhaps pre-sales and focus on the game features would be better for everyone.
